Lincoln Academy
Our students have been learning about insects and the life cycle of the butterfly. First and second graders enjoyed a field trip to the Botanical Garden to learn about pollinators! Third grade students watched the complete metamorphosis from egg to butterfly. They were so excited to see the butterflies emerge that they named them before releasing them!
Our 7th and 8th graders went on a field trip to “See Huntsville for free”! God blessed them with the perfect weather to stop at Ditto Landing for a short walk, hike a trail on Green Mountain, stop at Blevins Gap for a photo op, eat lunch at Little Rosie’s, and then head to the library to check out books! They stopped to take a picture in front of the iconic mural at First Baptist Church and then drove through Maple Hill Cemetery where they finished the day playing in “Dead Children’s Playground”, a Huntsville legend.
Our amazing PE coach, Nick Dawson, planned and executed a Fun Run for our Lincoln Academy students. We even had an official time keeper. Thank you Paul Richardson! The kids were so excited to see their times at the end of the run. The weather was perfect and the kids had such a great time!
Every year our kids have standardized testing as a way to evaluate where they are academically. We encourage all students to do their best and we are so proud at all they have learned and accomplished this school year!
Mill City Church treated our students to Kona Ice as fun and refreshing way to celebrate the end of testing and the end of school for our Little Linc and Lincoln Academy students.
Lincoln Academy 8th graders were promoted in the sweetest way! We are so proud of all of them and all they have accomplished. Please join us as we pray for what God has for them in this next chapter of their lives!

Lincoln Academy is GROWING!
Lincoln Academy currently has one class per grade K-8. However, starting this Fall, we will introduce a second Kindergarten class! Demand has always been high for kids entering Kindergarten to attend Lincoln Academy and God has been faithful in allowing us to open up a second classroom. With this new class, comes new needs and we would love for you to check out our Amazon wishlist for the upcoming school year. Thank you for considering supporting Lincoln Academy in this way!

Little Linc
Little Linc Preschool had a joyful May to celebrate the end of a great school year. Local author LeAnn Newsom (owner of Haven Farms) visited the preschool and shared her new book with the students. It was a treat! Mill City Church sponsored a snow cone truck for the preschoolers. We are thankful for Pastor Will Harbison and his wife Claire who have been so supportive of the preschool this year! Little Linc was honored to send three special students to Lincoln's Beautiful Things Luncheon to share about their time at the preschool.
The children had fun practicing for our preschool graduation on the last day of school. It was so special to see over 150 people packed into the audience to love and support our preschoolers. The children recited verses and sang a song from Psalm 139 proclaiming that they are fearfully and wonderfully made. They sang and danced to two other joyful worship songs. Then the teachers presented each child with an award recognizing the ways God has gifted them. It was a sweet time to speak words of affirmation and blessing over each little one.
This school year is the first time Little Linc Preschool has grown to include two pre-K classes. We want to acknowledge the Lord's faithfulness and provision to allow us to serve so many wonderful families. Most of our graduates will be attending Lincoln Academy in the fall for kindergarten. Please pray with us that God will grow the seeds of faith that have been planted in these young hearts into oaks of righteousness!
Evolve Program - Matched Savings
Lincoln’s Matched Savings program was designed to assist residents in achieving long-term savings habits and goals. In this program, residents have the opportunity to have up to $2500 of their contributions matched by generous donors of Lincoln Village. The money being matched is to be used toward furthering education, purchasing a home, or starting a small business. There are commitments required by the resident and those are outlined below.
1. Residents must complete a monthly budget with the Matched Savings Coordinator. This budget remains in the resident’s file and is reviewed and updated as necessary.
2. The initial Savings Plan Agreement must be completed with the Neighborhood Coordinator and resident.
3. The Matched Savings Enrollment Agreement must be completed by the resident and the Matched Savings Coordinator.
4. The enrollment Agreement is then approved by the Matched Savings Coordinator.
Residents are eligible to enroll in Matched Savings after they have lived in Lincoln for at least 1 year. The contributions they make are tracked and, upon graduation from the Evolve Program, this money including the matched amount is made payable to the organization that is assisting with their home purchase, accepting them into an education program, or assisting in starting a small business.
Many residents have used this program to meet their goals and we are extremely grateful for the Lincoln Village donors who make this possible!
Beautiful Things
Beautiful Things was a special event this year, and we'd like to sincerely thank all who played a part in making this fundraiser a success. Whether you prayed for the event, made a donation, attended, purchased a ticket or a table, sponsored, or donated/purchased a silent auction item - we appreciate you!
We are thankful for our precious Little Linc students who spoke and Lincoln resident Jessica who shared her powerful testimony.
Thank you to Baby Bites who donated the dessert that capped off a delicious meal catered by Hartley's Catering.
A sincere thank you to our Presenting Sponsors Beth and Philip McGee and one who'd like to remain anonymous, and to our anonymous donor who made a $50,000 matching pledge. Your generosity is a blessing!
Mark your calendars for next year - May 6, 2025 at 11am at The Botanical Garden!
Lincoln Ambassadors
Lincoln Ambassadors help spread awareness in the community about Lincoln Village Ministry. Ambassadors meet quarterly for one year to get an in-depth view of Lincoln's holistic services. A new class of Lincoln Ambassadors will begin in August. If you are interested, please contact alison@lincolnvillage.org for more information.
Summertime at Lincoln
Lincoln Academy is out for the next 2 months, our summer camps start on Monday, June 10, and we have projects galore going on in Lincoln Village.
These projects include, completely remodeling two of our main offices, completing renovations of two of our Village houses, cleaning top to bottom getting school back in shape for August kick off date, and a myriad of other tasks.
We can use your help!
In May & June we have groups signed up from a variety of areas and churches - St. Andrews Anglican, Summit Crossing, Southwood Presbyterian, Westminster Presbyterian, Huntsville Baptist, and others. We also have a group from the Hands Free Missions, a church from Auburn, as well as our regular weekly workers.
With school out, you don't have to plan for our weekly Saturday Workdays (8-11) only. If you would like to get involved on a weekday, that can be arranged, as well. Please go to our website ("lincolnvillage.org") and click Get Involved, then Volunteer for further information.
We can’t say thank you enough to those who have already committed their time and talent this summer and we look forward to having many more volunteers sign up!
