August 2023
Lincoln Academy
We are excited to welcome Mrs. Kunter to Lincoln Academy. We are so thankful for our returning teachers and those officially joining our faculty this year!
Lincoln Academy began the year by welcoming parents and students to an Open House/Parent Meeting on August 1. Teachers were able to go over classroom and school policies and procedures. Students were able to meet their teacher, see the classroom, and visit with classmates. On August 2 we had 77 smiling faces walk through the front door for the first day of school! We are looking forward to a fabulous year!
With school back in session we have started our Wednesdays for Worship! At Lincoln Academy our kids learn just how much the God of the universe loves each and every one of them.
Our donors came through in a big way this summer! All of our third through eighth grade students now have a Chromebook. Additionally, our first and second grade classes have four Chromebooks that students can utilize during small group time. Everyone is grateful for these gifts! Now that we have chromebooks, our third, fourth, seventh and eighth grade students are able to access their science e-books. The seventh grade students said they love their new online books!
We owe a special thank you to Capstone Realty and Edward Jones. They provided school supplies for ALL of our students this year. Our parents and teachers greatly appreciate your generous donations!
Little Linc
Little Linc Preschool welcomed 32 students on our first day of school! This is our ninth year serving the Lincoln community. We are so thankful for the way God has provided for the preschool already this year! He's already at work, calling families and teachers to Little Linc and helping us establish relationships with each child and parent.
This year is especially exciting as we have added a new Pre-K class. This new class is meeting in the old Lincoln Academy Science Lab, and they have been appropriately named the Red Rockets. After many many hours of labor by our staff and volunteers, the classroom was bright and welcoming on the first day of school! We are so humbled by the provision of resources, teachers, and students for this new class! Our prayer is that all of the children from our two Pre-K classes will be well prepared for kindergarten at Lincoln Academy.
Thanks to the generosity of donors and a grant from the Kiwanis Club, we have most of the things we need for the new class. Our Amazon wishlist has several ideas of things to bless the preschool if you are interested! Amazon Wishlist
Saturday Work Day
Dale Bowen: Every Saturday Work Day is a blessing for us in Lincoln. We love and rely heavily on individuals, families and groups coming to lend a hand for a few hours. However - Saturday, 8/18 brought special joy to my heart. One of our previous residents, Dianara Young, who left the Village to become a HOME OWNER - returned and brought a crowd with her. Upon leaving Lincoln, M.s Young became involved with a local service sorority and she had them come this week to do various tasks around our Community House. Thank you to the sisters of Chi Sigma Delta for joining in!
Thank you, Ms. Young for sharing with some of the other groups there on Saturday about the impact and pleasure you got from your time in Lincoln and your heart for wanting to give back by serving others. We definitely recognized your smile upon arrival - but, not sure I would have recognized your daughter since she’s so grown up. It is encouraging that you are passing along your heart for others to her and to the younger ones who were with the group.
IF you - or a group you know of - would like to join us anytime - please go to our website for more information about how to Get Involved.
Why I Give
The Abercrombie Group - Keller Williams
Our business has so enjoyed being a part of this ministry over the years. Working full-time, we feel it's important to use that work to be a blessing to our local community. Lincoln Village Ministry has continued to make a huge difference in our town and city. The children and families they have reached over the years is pretty incredible. The Abercrombie Group has been so impressed with their commitment to a specific area over a long period of time. We are grateful God has entrusted our business with the ability to be generous and Lincoln Village is one of the places we trust and love!
