Little Linc
Little Linc Preschool celebrated the end of our school year with an outdoor program and special graduation ceremony for our students. We discovered during the pandemic that the shade by the Lincoln Science Lab made a lovely setting for our preschool graduation, and we continued that tradition this year. The weather was perfect, and every child had family members there to support them. We had quite a turnout and were blessed to see how proud every family was of their preschooler.
The three year old class performed three songs for their families and took a picture in their new shades because their futures are "so bright!" Our four year old pre-K class sang two songs and recited Psalm 23 with sign language. What a blessing to hear these young children hiding God's Word in their hearts. All of our Little Linc students were called up to receive a special award recognizing a way they have been a blessing to their class this school year. From the Sweetest Smile to the Future Scientist, every child was honored. The children were also given a very special keepsake - a collection of their Bible art from the school year gathered in a binder.
Our preschool year ended so well, and we are thankful for the prayers and support of so many that allow us to serve at Little Linc. Our classes are full for the fall, and we are thankful that all of the students from our three year old class are returning next year! We love building long term relationships with our families. And eight of our graduating students will be attending Lincoln Academy in the fall, where they will continue to hear every day about the love of their Heavenly Father.
Lincoln Academy
April was a busy time for the Academy! We hit the ground running with the beginning of the month focused on accreditation. Once that was behind us, we were all able to relax and enjoy some sunshine-fun time! The students all enjoyed flying kites! April provided the perfect amount of wind to get the kites up off the ground with ease!
April had a few other fun things in store for Lincoln students! We welcomed 4H to campus! Our 5th-8th grade students began having instruction from a 4H counselor on various topics. The best part? It’s hands on! It’s been very popular. Our classes have really enjoyed the active model of learning.
Additionally, thanks to Mrs. Dawson and the hard work of our Whitesburg interns, we were able to send home an Easter kit for our families to work on together during the 8 days leading to Easter Sunday. It was filled with family fun activities that corresponded with scripture and stories related to Christ’s resurrection!
Painting Class
Our sweet and talented Executive Director, Lakshmi Nallamala, held a painting class with our 7th and 8th grade students in April. Each student was outfitted with their own set of paints, brushes, picture examples and a blank canvas. Lakshmi did a wonderful job of teaching them several painting techniques. They learned a lot, had a wonderful time and best of all had a surprise Mother’s Day gift for their moms. It was fun to see all of their creativity and different interpretations of the sunflower picture. Great job students!
Our Graduates
I would like to introduce our graduating 8th graders! Please join us in praying for them as they walk into their next chapter in life. We know God has big plans for each and every one of these students and we are grateful for the time we got to spend with them at Lincoln Academy!
My name is Angel, and I am the newest student in the eighth grade class since I started this year. I really enjoy history class. Lincoln Academy is special because God is put first; the staff takes time with all the children. Since coming here, I have grown closer to God and see His work more clearly. Grissom High School will help me prepare to be a pediatrician or basketball player (or maybe both).
I am Caleb. My favorite memory from my three years here are all the funny moments during fifth grade lunch. God has been working in my life and working things out for me even when I didn’t notice. I plan to attend Madison Academy next year. My love for science and math will help me to become a pilot or an entomologist.
Hi, I am Jakayla. My time at the school started at the beginning of sixth grade. The small class size at Lincoln allows the teachers to have regular one-on-one sessions with each student. I am shy, and God has used LA to help me interact more with others and see a new and better side of myself. My desire to become a microbiologist or an OBGYN explains why my favorite subjects are math and science. I will go to Buckhorn for high school.
My name is Jaycen. I have been a student at Lincoln Academy for four years. My favorite memory is when we went on an end-of-the-year trip to Altitude and then to CiCi’s for all-you-can-eat pizza. While here at LA, God has given me the opportunity to meet new people and gain a better relationship with Him. My favorite subject is ELA. I will be attending Grissom which will help me on my journey to become an MLB pitcher.
Hello, I am Ja’ Niyah and I have been attending Lincoln Academy since fifth grade. Math and science are my favorite subjects; these will help me in following my dream of becoming a veterinarian. The teachers here pay extra attention to us when we do not understand the work. God has helped me with my grades during the last four years. I am going to go to Lee High School.
I am Talen and have been coming to Lincoln for four years. Jesus changed my life when I came to LA. I have learned to look at people, especially teachers, with a different attitude. My favorite memory is Camp Lead. Every day in class, I am excited about ELA. I want to play sports at Lee High School to help me in my pursuit of being a professional athlete; however, I am also interested in buying and selling real estate.
Greetings, I am Christian and have attended Lincoln Academy for all of my schooling so far. It will be so odd to be in a different school. During my fifth grade year, the seventh and eighth graders invited us to go on a field trip with them, and that is my favorite memory. While at LA, God has helped me to see that things are not always about me. The love of all things math has helped me get accepted into The Alabama School of Cybertechnology and Engineering (ASCTE). One day I hope to be a game designer.
Hi, my name is Patrick. I started here in pre-K, went to another school for Kindergarten, then returned for first grade and have been here ever since. This is virtually my home, and God has protected me here at Lincoln. My favorite memories are from Camp Lead the summer of my fifth grade year. History and math are my favorite subjects, and I want to be a professional baseball or football player. I will be attending Madison Academy.
Beautiful Things
Thank you to all who attended our Beautiful Things brunch. It was a wonderful morning of celebrating our Lord and honoring significant women in our lives.
This year, a generous donor matched all silent auction proceeds and donations up to $50,000. What a tremendous impact on the families we serve and an amazing help towards advancing His Kingdom!
We are still in awe of all that God did through this fundraiser and silent auction. THANK YOU to everyone who helped make it possible!
Trideum Foundation Award
We are honored to have received the 2022 Outreach of the Year Award presented by the Trideum Foundation in their "Grounds For Hope - Celebrating Faith in Outreach" event. Our mission is to share the Gospel of Jesus in Lincoln and beyond and we know that this recognition puts that mission into action! Thank you Trideum Foundation!
Volunteers
We are in awe of all that God is doing in Lincoln North. With the help of Lee Builders of Huntsville, renovations to properties in that neighborhood are moving faster than ever. This blessing also brings the challenge of staying up to speed with demolition. Volunteer work doesn’t slow down in the summer! Also while the school is closed we have two months to perform multiple projects and get the building and campus cleaned up for the new school year. We need YOUR help! If you are part of a group/church/organization or you would like to come out on your own and serve in this capacity, we would love to have you! There are opportunities every Saturday, with the exception of holidays, to serve at Lincoln Village from 8 am - 11 am. We can also accommodate people looking to be involved during the week from 9 am - 3 pm, Monday through Friday. Prayerfully consider coming alongside our demolition and clean up efforts in order to transform even more properties and watch how God will use that to restore families for generations to come!
